Born in Hódmezõvásárhely,Hungary, owner, Anikó Samu-Kuschatka has always been surrounded by people who love to cook, create art, garden and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. As a child, she spent a lot of time in the kitchen with her mother who is a chef. By watching and helping her, she learned all the "little bit of this and little bit of that" in the kitchen. Her mother is her Martha. "She has taught me so much. I just love to cook with her and be in the kitchen sharing stories, singing and laughing. It is wonderful!"
During the holidays Anikó gave baked goods to family and friends. "People have enough things. Cookies and baked goods do not accumulate and are always appreciated." One day she saw a program on TV demonstrating the use of springerle molds. "When I first saw these molds, I was so blown away by their beauty. Because I am also an artist, making springerle was the best of my worlds; art and cooking." Over the years she has been making springerle cookies as gifts. The compliments have been pouring in ever since.
Several years ago, Anikó was diagnosed with Usher's Syndrome, a genetic condition due to both deafness and blindness. She knew she had to make a career change from her previous career as a photographer. Since she loved to be in the kitchen and create springerle, it became her lightbulb moment. And All The King's Men was born. "There is so much joy in giving these beautiful cookies. It is like delivering flowers. You get nothing but smiles, oohs and aahs!"
Now the opportunity is yours! Why not get a bunch and give them to those you love. Oohs and aahs guaranteed!
